You know how sometimes you hear a tune or riff or sound effect and it gets stuck in your head all day? I've gone out of my way to record those sounds on my phone - I'll hum them, whistle em' whatever it takes so I don't forget them later. Then, when I find time, I head down to the Sanctum and find a way to digitize them.
I used to do this a lot, but over the years and since having kids my interest has faded alongside my free time. Thanks to a friend of mine with a similar interest, I've slowly begun to get back into music creation. It took a little work - I had to get a drum kit, a synthesizer, software, microphones and various input/output hardware so it could all talk, but things have come along quite nicely.

It's only been a couple weeks and I am completely starting from scratch. At this point in time, I've got about a dozen riffs down; some from a bass guitar, some from a synth - but they're there. Now it's time to trade loops back and forth with Ray and create a supersong. Just like the Postal Service used to do...
My ultimate goal: get a song put together that Codemasters will include in one of their DiRT soundtracks.
